Brian Shriver takes NASL Golden Boot back to Tampa

It is with great pleasure that we can announce that AX agency player Brian Shriver has signed with the Tampa Bay Rowdies. The North American Soccer League giants welcome a player into their squad with a fantastic goalscoring pedigree.

The 2013 NASL top goalscorer joins in a move that is also a homecoming for the twenty-six year-old. His soccer career began to gain momentum at Clearwater High School, where he captained the side with great distinction for three years. His impressive play saw him named to the NSCAA/Adidas Youth All-America in 2004, and an offer to play at UNC.

Shriver was drafted by Major League Soccer side FC Dallas in 2009 but he declined the move in order to complete his studies at the University of North Carolina. On completion of his degree he moved to Rowdies’ arch-rivals Miami FC in 2010 and scored four in fifteen starts, and then in 2011 went on to score 11 in 23 starts for the rebranded Fort Lauderdale Strikers.

In the off-season before the 2012 campaign, Brian Shriver became an AX agency player and a seminal move to the Carolina RailHawks followed for the striker. His first season saw another haul of 11 goals, and then in 2013 he topped it with 15 goals in just 22 league starts. He won the Golden Boot, and was selected in the league’s Best XI.

With the signing of Brian Shriver, the Rowdies have secured a scoring threat that makes winning the 2014 Soccer Bowl a very realistic aim.
