Matt Sanner Signs in Sweden and Scores in Impressive Debut

American soccer player Matt Sanner has taken the next step to forging a successful professional soccer career in Europe. After impressing European scouts at a Pro Soccer Combine organized by AX Soccer Tours in New York, Sanner was gifted with an opportunity to try out for BK Bodens, a professional Swedish soccer club. After showcasing his skills and earning a contract with the team, Sanner made an impact in his very first match for the club.

Playing against Morön BK, Sanner was an offensive force. Although he had an early goal disallowed by a questionable offside call, Sanner put the error behind him and scored a fair opening goal. In the second half, Sanner notched an assist to help BK Bodens win the match 4-1.

In addition to making an impact and scoring a goal, Matt Sanner elevated the level of play through the entire team. BK Bodens has struggled this season, but with Sanner in the fold are starting to look like they can fight off relegation and finish the season positively. Playing alongside fellow American striker Lester Dewee, the pair looked formidable. Dewee had a brace in the game as well.

For a player that was left behind by the MLS, Matt Sanner is proving that there are many opportunities abroad for talented American soccer players. After an impressive career at Princeton University, Sanner is ready and able to prove that he is capable of continuing the game professionally. Finally having been given a real opportunity, it looks as though Matt Sanner is pushing ahead for a successful soccer career in Europe.
