The success stories from the AX’s 2013 winter combines keep on coming, with midfielder Eddy Prugh being snapped up by Bodens BK of the Swedish Second Division.
Prugh’s persistence in following his dream proved attractive to a number of clubs, with the 24 year-old attending AX combines and showcases in Irvine, Sweden and Las Vegas during 2013. Boden’s technical director Christian Samuelsson attended all of them, and ensured he wouldn’t let the hard-working midfielder get away for the third time.
AX firmly believed in the former Oregon State University player’s ability and together they wouldn’t give up until a professional contract was signed. In a strong Las Vegas combine Prugh shone, and Samuelsson promptly offered him that much-deserved deal.
Bodens BK had already benefitted from AX’s combines with the signing of Matt Sanner after the Long Island combine. The arrival of the former Princeton striker sparked an upturn in fortunes for the team as they went on a ten game unbeaten run. The addition of Eddy Prugh could be the final piece in the jigsaw in their bid for promotion to the First Division in 2014.
